PETER CACOPERDO

CEO & OWNER

Since I can remember I loved construction. I started very young going to jobs with my father who made it very clear I had to work my way up from the bottom. I learned every aspect of construction starting with clean-ups before moving onto sheathing/framing/masonry/project management.

In the summers and everyday after school my father sent me to work with seasoned carpenters to learn the trade. They would always tell me that to be the best builder in this industry you need to know both sides of the build: the design and the actual structural build. That’s what makes the difference between a decent contractor and a great contractor.

I decided to study Architecture and Design at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan while doing so I helped my father by designing jobs and doing blueprints. After college I started full-time designing, building and running projects as well as studying Project and Business Management at night. This is where I found my true value, being able to listen to the functional issues of the client and design plans to fit their every need. All while actually knowing how to design the structure and build it myself.

Fast forward years later and this is still Noah’s secret sauce. Being able to sit down with a client, listen to their needs and create a design while knowing how to form it with the hands of a carpenter. This is why we take pride in calling our company a Design and Build Firm. We’re able to mold a project to fit the functional needs and lifestyle of the client just by asking about how they use or plan to use their home.

Being a contractor is in my DNA. I have three generations of knowledge that has been passed down to me. My grandfather and father always told me the only way to know this business is to have real hands-on experience. Plus, caring deeply about each and every job like it’s your own home. That’s what makes you a great contractor and someone people can trust to build their dream home!

PAULETTE CACOPERDO

CFO

As an entrepreneur and business owner myself it was only fitting when Peter (my husband) asked me to join Noah 5 years ago to help his growing company. As CFO I’m responsible for handling all financial aspects and decisions as well as helping to manage all vendors, trade partners, sponsorships, fundraising events, and our on-going donations to charities that truly mean a lot to us. One of the greatest joys of being a part of Noah is seeing how happy our clients are when they move into their dream home. It’s a true blessing to share in someone else’s happiness and to know we helped change their life. And at the end of each project, each client becomes a part of our family. In my personal life, I have a passion for rescuing dogs (I currently have 3), watching sunsets, and spending as much time as possible at the beach since it’s where I find peace and serenity.

Important Questions to Ask When Hiring a Contractor

Here are some important questions to consider when deciding on a contractor:

  • Do they have a Valid License Number for General Contracting?
  • Do they offer Valid Liability and Compensation For General Contraction (See Exclusions)?
  • Can they give you references of past clients to speak to or visit their homes?
  • Do they have an office or showroom you can visit?
  • Can you meet with your project manager before signing your contact?
  • Is their pricing based on square footage? If so, ask to see an upfront design layout!
  • Do they offer an upfront budget with allowances and materials to be used?
  • Can they answer structural questions and provide a plan of attack for project?
